Magneto-Transport in a Chiral Fluid from Kinetic Theory

We argue that in order to study the magneto-transport in a relativistic Weyl fluid, it is needed to take into account the associated quantum corrections, namely the side-jump effect, at least to second order. To this end, we impose Lorentz invariance to a system of free Weyl fermions in the presence of the magnetic field and find the second order correction to the energy dispersion. By developing a scheme to compute the integrals in the phase space, we show that the mentioned correction has non-trivial effects on the thermodynamics of the system. Specifically, we predict the form of the negative magnetoresistance in the system from the enthalpy density in equilibrium. Then in analogy with Weyl semimetal, in the framework of the chiral kinetic theory and under the relaxation time approximation, we explicitly compute the magneto-conductivities, at low temperature limit (TμT\ll \mu). We show that the conductivities obey the set of Ward identities which follow from the generating functional including the Chern-Simons part.Comment: 39 pages, 1 figure, 1 table, v2: journal version; references adde

Probing the Biological evaluations of a new designed Palladium (II) complex using spectroscopic and theoretical approaches: Human Hemoglobin as a Target

Background: Previous studies reported that Palladium (Pd)(II) drug compounds showed significant anti-tumor activity in comparison with cis-platin.Materials and Methods: In this study, we investigated the biological evaluations of a designed Pd (II) complexes (bi pyridine ethyl dithiocarbamate palladium II nitrate) via its anti-proliferative effects on the alterations in the function and structure of human hemoglobin (Hb) at different temperatures of 25 and 37°. Also for further investigation, multi-spectroscopic methods such as fluorescence and the far-UV circular dichroism (CD) with hemoglobin target were assessed. Results: Fluorescence data showed the pure ability of Pd(II) complex to quench the intrinsic fluorescence of Hb. The binding constant, number of binding sites, and thermodynamic parameters at two temperatures were assessed and the results demonstrated the major possibility of occurring electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions in the Pd (II) complex–Hb interaction. For evaluating the change of secondary structure of Hb upon interaction with various concentrations of complex, far-UV CD spectra was applied and it was observed that in high dose of complex, significant changes occurred which is indicative of some side effects in overdosing of this complex. Conclusion: Our results suggested that using palladium complex as an anticancer agent might cause some disorders in structure and function of Hb as well as improve understanding of the side effects of newly designed metal anticancer drugs

Transmission Scheme, Detection and Power Allocation for Uplink User Cooperation with NOMA and RSMA

In this paper, we propose two novel cooperative-non-orthogonal-multiple-access (C-NOMA) and cooperative-rate-splitting-multiple-access (C-RSMA) schemes for uplink user cooperation. At the first mini-slot of these schemes, each user transmits its signal and receives the transmitted signal of the other user in full-duplex mode, and at the second mini-slot, each user relays the other user's message with amplify-and-forward (AF) protocol. At both schemes, to achieve better spectral efficiency, users transmit signals in the non-orthogonal mode in both mini-slots. In C-RSMA, we also apply the rate-splitting method in which the message of each user is divided into two streams. In the proposed detection schemes for C-NOMA and C-RSMA, we apply a combination of maximum-ratio-combining (MRC) and successive-interference-cancellation (SIC). Then, we derive the achievable rates for C-NOMA and C-RSMA, and formulate two optimization problems to maximize the minimum rate of two users by considering the proportional fairness coefficient. We propose two power allocation algorithms based on successive-convex-approximation (SCA) and geometric-programming (GP) to solve these non-convex problems. Next, we derive the asymptotic outage probability of the proposed C-NOMA and C-RSMA schemes, and prove that they achieve diversity order of two. Finally, the above-mentioned performance is confirmed by simulations.Comment: 32 pages, 13 figure

    UxNB-Enabled Cell-Free Massive MIMO with HAPS-Assisted Sub-THz Backhauling

In this paper, we propose a cell-free scheme for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) base stations (BSs) to manage the severe intercell interference between terrestrial users and UAV-BSs of neighboring cells. Since the cell-free scheme requires enormous bandwidth for backhauling, we propose to use the sub-terahertz (sub-THz) band for the backhaul links between UAV-BSs and central processing unit (CPU). Also, because the sub-THz band requires a reliable line-of-sight link, we propose to use a high altitude platform station (HAPS) as a CPU. At the first time-slot of the proposed scheme, users send their messages to UAVs at the sub-6 GHz band. The UAVs then apply match-filtering and power allocation. At the second time-slot, at each UAV, orthogonal resource blocks are allocated for each user at the sub-THz band, and the signals are sent to the HAPS after analog beamforming. In the HAPS receiver, after analog beamforming, the message of each user is decoded. We formulate an optimization problem that maximizes the minimum signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio of users by finding the optimum allocated power as well as the optimum locations of UAVs. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed scheme compared with aerial cellular and terrestrial cell-free baseline schemes.Comment: 32 pages, 13 figure

In this paper, a new method is presented for the identification of exonic regions in DNA sequences. This method is based on the cross-correlation technique that can identify periodic regions in DNA sequences.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>The method reduces the dependency of window length on identification accuracy. The proposed algorithm is applied to different eukaryotic datasets and the output results are compared with those of other established methods. The proposed method increased the accuracy of exon detection by 4% to 41% relative to the most common digital signal processing methods for exon prediction.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>We demonstrated that periodic signals can be estimated using cross-correlation. In addition, discrete wavelet transform (DWT) can minimise noise while maintaining the signal. The proposed algorithm, which combines cross-correlation and DWT, significantly increases the accuracy of exonic region identification.</p

Handling Interference in Integrated HAPS-Terrestrial Networks through Radio Resource Management

Vertical heterogeneous networks (vHetNets) are promising architectures to bring significant advantages for 6G and beyond mobile communications. High altitude platform station (HAPS), one of the nodes in the vHetNets, can be considered as a complementary platform for terrestrial networks to meet the ever-increasing dynamic capacity demand and provide sustainable wireless networks for future. However, the problem of interference is the bottleneck for the optimal operation of such an integrated network. Thus, designing efficient interference management techniques is inevitable. In this work, we aim to design a joint power-subcarrier allocation scheme in order to achieve fairness for all users. We formulate the max-min fairness (MMF) optimization problem and develop a rapid converging iterative algorithm to solve it. Numerical results validate the superiority of the proposed algorithm and show better performance over other conventional network scenarios.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures, Accepted by IEEE Wireless Communications Letter
